Role purpose:

The Business Strategy Project Manager will provide focused programme coordination and project management support for the Digital Services Cloud, Cybersecurity and AI strategic build programme. The role will help structure, coordinate and drive multiple internal workstreams across regions, ensuring activity remains visible, aligned and progressing at pace against agreed milestones, funding commitments and executive expectations.

The successful candidate will work closely with senior leaders, regional stakeholders, product, sales, solution, architecture, operations and delivery teams to manage actions, dependencies, risks, decisions and reporting. The role will provide the structure and momentum needed to move Cybersecurity and AI from mobilisation and build into a sustainable growth phase, ensuring the programme is well governed, well communicated and able to demonstrate progress to executive stakeholders and funders.

Key responsibilities:
Strategic Programme Coordination
  • Coordinate the mobilisation and build-phase activity across the Cybersecurity and AI strategic workstreams, ensuring priorities, milestones and dependencies are clearly documented and actively managed.
  • Establish and maintain an integrated plan covering the key programme workstreams, including leadership mobilisation, hiring, product and services portfolio development, go-to-market readiness, sales activation, customer engagement, SOC readiness and operational handover.
  • Support the Business Operations Director and senior programme sponsors by creating structure, cadence and transparency across complex, fast-moving activity.
  • Drive agreed actions through to completion by following up with workstream owners, identifying blockers and escalating issues where progress is at risk.
Governance, Reporting and Stakeholder Visibility
  • Create and maintain clear governance artefacts, including plans, action logs, milestone trackers, decision logs and executive reporting packs.
  • Prepare regular progress updates for senior leaders, executive stakeholders and programme funders, ensuring reporting is concise, evidence-based and aligned to agreed commitments.
  • Ensure risks, issues, dependencies and decisions are visible, owned and reviewed through the appropriate governance cadence.
  • Support preparation for QBRs, steering meetings, stakeholder updates and funding review sessions by consolidating inputs from workstream leads and regional stakeholders

Cross-Regional Workstream Management
  • Coordinate activity across UK, France and Spain, ensuring regional plans are aligned while recognising local requirements, dependencies and operating model considerations.
  • Work with sales, solution, product, architecture, operations and delivery leaders to track progress against build-phase objectives and readiness milestones.
  • Maintain a joined-up view of recruitment, proposition readiness, sales enablement, customer engagement, product/service development and SOC or operational readiness activity.
  • Facilitate meetings and workshops that bring clarity to ownership, next steps, decisions and escalation points.

Risk, Issue and Dependency Management
  • Identify and manage risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies that could affect delivery of the build-phase objectives.
  • Help unblock issues by connecting the right stakeholders, clarifying ownership and escalating decisions to the appropriate leadership forum.
  • Ensure funding-related commitments, milestones and reporting obligations are actively tracked and evidenced.
  • Provide early visibility of delays, resource gaps, decision points or cross-functional conflicts that may impact programme outcomes.

Transition from Build to Growth
  • Support the transition of Cloud, Cybersecurity and AI activity from mobilisation and build into a more sustainable running and growth model.
  • Document key decisions, operating assumptions, handover points and open actions to support a smooth transition at the end of the fixed-term contract.
  • Help define what “ready to run” looks like for the programme, including governance handover, workstream ownership and reporting cadence.
  • Ensure the programme leaves behind clear documentation, agreed ownership and a practical operating rhythm for ongoing business growth.

Key Differentiators from Existing Project Manager Roles
  • This role is specifically linked to the funded Digital Services Cloud, Cybersecurity and AI strategic build programme and is required only for the mobilisation and build phase.
  • The role reports to the Business Operations Director and supports strategic business execution, rather than reporting into a delivery function or managing a portfolio of customer delivery projects.
  • The focus is on internal strategic coordination, cross-regional workstream management, executive reporting and build-to-growth transition, rather than end-to-end technical delivery of customer projects.
  • The role does not own customer project P&L, formal customer delivery governance, contracted customer implementation outcomes or BAU service delivery.
  • The role is time-bound because the requirement is expected to reduce once the Cloud Cybersecurity and AI workstreams have moved from build phase into an established operating and growth model.
Skills and experience:
  • Proven experience coordinating complex business, transformation, mobilisation or stra-tegic change programmes with multiple stakeholders and workstreams.
  • Strong planning, organisation and governance skills, with the ability to create structure in ambiguous or fast-moving environments.
  • Experience managing actions, risks, issues, dependencies, milestones and stakeholder reporting.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to produce clear up-dates for senior and executive audiences.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence without direct authority and drive progress through others.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accurate documentation and re-porting under time pressure.
  • Comfortable working across multiple countries, teams and functions, balancing local requirements with group-level objectives.
  • Proactive, resilient and outcome-focused, with the confidence to identify blockers and escalate constructively.
  • Experience working within technology, managed services, cybersecurity, AI, cloud, digital transformation or professional services environments.
  • Experience supporting funded programmes, investment cases, executive reporting or strategic business initiatives.
  • Experience working with international or cross-regional teams.
