Role purpose: As Vendor Manager, you will own and develop relationships with SCC’s Strategic and Accelerate vendors, working closely with internal sales, pre-sales, marketing, services, operations, and commercial teams to turn vendor partnerships into measurable business results. You will be responsible for shaping joint business plans, driving revenue and gross profit growth, optimising programmes and incentives, and ensuring SCC is well positioned to deliver value for both vendors and customers. This role offers the chance to influence strategic direction, build senior stakeholder relationships, and make a visible impact across a fast-paced and highly competitive enterprise technology environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Vendor Relationship Management: Own day-to-day and strategic relationships with assigned Strategic and Accelerate vendors, acting as SCC’s primary commercial contact and leading regular business reviews, escalation management, and joint planning activities
- Go-to-Market & Revenue-Generating Activities: Develop and execute joint go-to-market and growth plans with assigned vendors to increase revenue, gross profit, pipeline creation, and customer engagement across the Enterprise and Networks business.
- Certification and Compliance: Maintain and improve SCC’s vendor accreditations, certifications, and specialisations by coordinating training, tracking programme requirements, and working with internal stakeholders to retain or achieve target partner status.
- Strategic Initiatives: Support strategic initiatives that expand SCC’s vendor value proposition, including marketplace partnerships, services alignment, and other vendor-led growth programmes that enhance route to market and customer relevance.
- Financial Management: Maximise vendor investment by securing and managing rebates, marketing development funds, business development funding, and other commercial incentives, ensuring effective allocation, governance, and return on investment.
- Proactive Engagement: Proactively identify and progress opportunities with vendor partners to grow SCC’s share of wallet, improve market visibility, and increase alignment between vendor priorities and SCC sales objectives.
- Contract Management: Work with vendor relationships team for onboarding, contractual documentation, and internal approvals are completed and maintained in line with SCC governance requirements, including NDAs, trading terms, and other relevant agreements.
- Monitor Vendor Performance: Monitor vendor performance against agreed commercial, operational, and service objectives, addressing issues, escalating risks where required, and driving corrective actions to improve outcomes.
- Risk Mitigation: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks within vendor relationships, including contractual, compliance, operational, financial, and security-related risks, working with relevant internal teams as required.
Skills and experience:

- Proven experience in vendor management, partner management, or channel/alliance management within the enterprise technology sector, ideally in a reseller, distributor, vendor, or managed services environment.
- Experience of working with vendor partner programmes, rebate structures, MDF funding, certifications, and commercial governance processes.

- Strong planning and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple vendor initiatives, deadlines, and stakeholder requirements in a fast-paced commercial environment.
- Strong organisational discipline, including forecast tracking, business planning, reporting, and follow-through on cross-functional actions.
